David Gesmundo Cosico of high school batch 1990 hails from San Pablo City. He took Biology and Development Studies at UPLB and Manila but gave up his childhood dream of becoming a doctor and a lawyer when “my De La Salle Lipa freshman year adviser & English teacher Malu Rosales and Maharimusik moderator roggerbasco started managing my student career as an orator and a musical theatre performer.” He went to New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies to take up voice and musical theatre.
Back in high school, he is a member of the Stamp club (under Br. Jimmy Dalumpines), KABALIKAT (of the social science department), Teatro ALAS , Maharimusik (under mr. Basco) and the BULIK.
David is presently engaged in Artist Management and Casting for STAGES Production Specialists. He is a freelance actor for theatre performing for Repertory Philippines, Trumpets and STAGES. Likewise, he acts for ABS-CBN, GMA (Philippines) and Mediacorp (Singapore). Sometime next year, a school for performing arts will be opened by David, together with performing arts guru Audie Gemora (graduate of DLSU), Stella Sison and Vilma Moredo.
“My most unforgettable experiences are the 1989 Inter-La Salle Cultural competition (because my younger brother, Roy, and I represented our DLSL in the junior and senior categories for Oration) and the Rotary Club Oratorical contest where I and Roy represented Lipa in different years and we both won gold medals in the National Level.”
