LICA Dinner for Scholarships: The Chefs

CHEF LADELYN LITAN
Ladelyn took up Culinary Arts and dreams of one day becoming a renowned chef. She also hopes, one day, to open her own restaurant. Although she likes to say that she specializes in pastries, in fact, like most LICA students, she is well-rounded and can cook up a dream for even the most selective of palates. She is donating her time to cook for the Scholarship Dinner because she believes her gifts are to be shared for the benefit of others as well. She hopes in her own small way to contribute to a fund that will help send a financially-handicapped youth to school.

CHEF JURIEL PADILLA
Juriel loves both eating and cooking, so it is hardly surprising that he took up Culinary Arts. He says his specialization is the hot kitchen, and explains simply, " 'Coz I love eating..." Although Juriel is a gifted chef, he is one of those who do not mind being at the table, instead. Of course, what he loves most is cooking his own hot specialty meal. Juriel is donating his time for the Scholarship Dinner because he thinks, "Sharing one's talent is a simple way of giving."

CHEF PAMELA ABEGAIL ENRIQUEZ
Pamela says her hobby and passion is cooking, which she finds great enjoyment from. Like Ladelyn, she specializes in pastries and thinks of the pastry station as her comfort zone. She is contributing her talents to the Scholarship dinner because she thinks her talent is something that she can share with other people. She says, "Tiredness (from cooking) is nothing compared to the thought that one has helped a kid reach his or her dream by way of sharing one's talent."

CHEF JOSEPH MANALO
Joseph went into the Culinary Arts because he says this was his ambition. He says that he specializes in Asian Cuisine because he finds it very artistic and, therefore, brings out the best in him. He is donating his time by cooking for the Dinner for Scholarships because, as he explains simply, "I want to help the scholars of De La Salle Lipa." He encourages other people to "make use of your skills and make the most of them to help other people who are in need."

CHEF STANLEY DELA ROSA
Stanley says he took up the Culinary Arts even when still young because it was always his dream to become a chef. He calls his father, who is also excellent at cooking, his inspiration. He loves pastries and bakes an excellent chocolate cake. Regarding the Dinner for Scholarships, Stanley says, "I feel honored and fortunate to be part of a very excellent program. I know that by sharing my talent, energies and time, I will be able to help the scholars." His message to fellow Lasallians, "Share your time and talent in helping people. We are fortunate enough to be studying in a prestigious school. We can show our gratitude by helping others in the simplest way we can."
