They walked down the same path with new hurdles to overcome and the Mathletes rose above the challenge. From the elimination of the 2017 Metrobank-MTAP DepEd Math Challenge Written Round, to the oral round in the division level, and finally, the regional challenge, the young math wizards proved that they get better in time.

Guided every step of the way by their coaches and parents, De La Salle Lipa's Mathletes brought their A-game at the elimination on February 16, 2017 and did not settle for any thing less. The following Grades 1 to 6 young mathematicians of DLSL ended at First Place:

Grade 1: Gabriel Gonzales, Harry Perez, and Zandrei Bustria

Grade 2: Gillieane Nicole Urrea, Immanuel Gerard Quinto, and Maria Alessandra Silvederio

Grade 3: Yuri Yabut, Reuben Joseph Felix, and Aiden Jomeil Bercilla

Grade 4: Naomi Ashley Uy, Lorenz Gabriel Briones, and Aldren Immanuel Dungo

Grade 5: Divine Clarisse Yabut, Alex Anthony Andal, and Alexander Benedict Bulloso

Grade 6: Ashley Julie Marie De Leon, Andre Jerahmy Amante, and Quevin James Custodio

Two from each grade level, meanwhile, advanced in the division oral round held on March 16. This resulted in another success as DLSL landed the over-all champion title.
Finally, in the regional challenge held on March 31 in Candelaria, Quezon, representatives, Alexander Benedict Bulloso and Alex Anthony Andal, were declared champions in the Team Oral Category. It was a fitting conclusion to the collective effort of all those who contributed in the well deserved major achievements of the young Mathletes.
