De La Salle Lipa's Grade 6 completers were lucky to have the newest Lipa Archbishop, His Excellency, Arch. Gilbert Garcera, DD, to lead the thanksgiving mass on June 1, 2017 at the Capilla de San Juan Bautista de La Salle.

Attendees, composed of administrators, faculty members, parents and students, were all ears as they listen to the first homily at DLSL by the archbishop who hails from Camarines Sur. His words to the young ones were full of wisdom and served as the best reminder to students what truly matters and how they could achieve it in their own way.

Although academic achievements are admirable fruits of one's labor, the newly appointed Lipa Archbishop urged the 277 Grade 6 completers to prepare for the grand graduation - salvation. To reach the ultimate destination, he related DLSL's tagline of "Driving What's Next" to pick the ideal phase. "Don't drive too fast" was his tip and that they should only allow one driver to lead them - Jesus Christ.

Arch. Garcera confirmed how fortunate the young Lasallians because the "gospel is about Jesus praying for us," good news, indeed.

Lastly, he strongly advised the students to thank their parents and commended the DLSL community for holding the Eucharistic celebration as it is an expression of gratitude while it echoes the gratitude of Jesus Christ.
