In a modest and solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the De La Salle Lipa community gathered at the Capilla de San Juan Bautista De La Salle on May 15, 2013 to honor the feast of the founder of the Christian Brothers' ministry and the De La Salle schools - St. John Baptist De La Salle. In his homily, Fr. Antonio Umali emphasized how the founder's name and story became known worldwide and the enormity of its influence in the country to date. He cited examples of people he knew, who have proven time and again, that the name "De La Salle" has earned quite a reputation throughout the years. St. La Salle, a patron saint of the teachers, is not only a teacher of the poor. As a pioneer and innovator, he introduced a revolutionary system in the landscape of education, the classroom type of teaching, which has been practiced from his time to present. Share
