In line with the celebration of the golden jubilee year and Catholic Teacher's day the statue of Jesus with the five children around him in front of the Br. Benilde Hall was finally blessed on January 25, 2013. Present in the event were the top administrators, headed by the school president and chancellor, Br. Joaquin Martinez FSC, D. Min., Integrated School (IS) principal Mayolisa Mantuano and grade school assistant principal Gina Vergara, faculty, and staff of the IS. Fr. Erwin Mendoza, OSJ facilitated the said blessing after the Eucharistic celebration for the faculty and staff at the Capilla De San Juan Bautista De La Salle. Invited faculty, staff, and grade school pupils were surprised to see Br. Hans Steven Moran FSC wearing his holy habit with a special apron. With him were red velvet cupcak'es with cream cheese frosting from the De La Salle Lipa Brother's Community with personalized lines stating "Let the children come to you". According to Br. Antonio Cesar Servando FSC, the one who proposed and made the project possible - the cement finished with marble dusk statue - made by Mr. Conrado Balubayan, is a memorial to Lasallian students that they are constantly special in God's eyes and that the Lord will watch over the safety of all the students of La Salle. Subsequently, in March 2013, a four feet resin statue of the child Jesus was also installed near the Br. Benilde Hall's lobby as a gift from the De La Salle Brother Novitiate. Share
