  DLSL delegates at the ASEACCU confab 2013

  De La Salle Lipa joined the 21st Conference of the Association of Southeast and East Asian Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU) held at the Catholic University of Korea from August 22nd to 25th, 2013.

About 200 faculty and students from 44 universities in 8 different countries in Southeast and East Asia were represented: Australia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and the host country, Korea.

From among the Philippine delegation, De La Salle Lipa was represented by Mrs. Violeta Ramirez, the Vice Chancellor for Mission; Dr. Erickson Martinez, Director for Student Services; Mr. Amelito Castillo, CBEAM Faculty; Maria Rizabel Del Rio, ABCom Student; Henry Lat, BS Biology Student; and Cedrick Altamirano, BS Electronics Engineering Student.

The 2013 ASEACCU Conference theme was "New Ardor, New Method, New Expression: Mission of Catholic Higher Education for New Evangelization" to celebrate the "Year of Faith," and to re-establish the "identity" of Catholic Education. Professor Amelito Castillo of the CBEAM presented the paper "How Catholic is Your School?: Perception on the Catholic Identity of De La Salle Lipa Integrated School."

The Philippines will be the next host country for the 2014 ASEACCU Conference. This will be held in Davao City at the Ateneo de Davao University.
