  DLSL ties bond with AFP

  De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) welcomed another partner for Teaching Minds, Touching Hearts and Transforming Lives as it inked the Memorandum of Agreement of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Education Benefit System (AFPEBS) at the LIRD Lounge, Sen. Diokno Hall, July 4.

The partnership aims to help the dependents of the military personnel through educational support by the partner institutions in exchange for the bravery and service of the AFP.

Through a ceremony graced by the administration of the Lasallian Assistance Management Program, the representatives of DLSL, headed by Br. Joaquin Martinez, FSC, D. Min, president and chancellor of DLSL, signed the said contract with the AFP-EBS Team Chief and General Manager Col. Manuel Sequitin and members of the staff.

Honoring the soldiers for their nobility and hardships was one focus of the program. The AFPEBS prepared an audio-visual presentation showcasing the selflessness of the army members and the dreams they have for their departed family.

The scholarship, dubbed as AFPEBS DLSL Educational Benefit Program, provides 100% tuition and other fees discount to qualified dependents of military personnel, apply in the secondary course and in any undergraduate degree program in DLSL, and may be availed by the dependents of combat casualties (killed-in-action/ discharged for disability with CDD rating of 100%), non-combat casualties (deceased/ completely incapacitated) and active military personnel.

Patricia Anne Fabia and John Wilson Polancos, currently at Grade 7, and Nona Marie Cuevas, senior BSIT student, and BSIE froshie Jayven De Leon, are the ones who are blessed to be the recipients of the PD577-category scholarship grant.
