  The sixth staging of the Batangas Food and Beverage Exposition (BAFBEX VI) titled, "Cultivating Advancements Leading to a Gastronomical Breakthrough," and themed "Mardi Gras,"was eventfully held at the De La Salle Lipa SENTRUM on November 18, 2016.

The theme was quite apparent from the logo to souvenirs and stage designs. Its festive mood set the tone of the annual occasion that was headed once again by Chef Patrick Henry Maravilla.

Eleven categories were prepared and the competition differed from college division to senior high school and junior high school divisions. The categories for college division were Table Set-up & Buffet Centerpiece, Mystery Box, Innovative Street Food, Quiz Bowl, and Food Styling & Food Photography. For junior and senior high school students, the participants competed in Poster Making, Feature Writing, Flower Arrangement, and Food Styling & Food Photography. There was also Destination Marketing Competition which was exclusive for senior high school students.

Aside from the competitions, a spectacle of various displays, courtesy of the major sponsors, was also featured. One of the displays was called Recados Batanguenos. It showcased famous ingredients and food items that can be found in the Batangas Province such as coffee, black pepper, tablea, among others.

Nine outstanding schools participated and benefited from the event. Everyone from junior high school to college participants showed an amazing set of skills and talents. Colegio de Sto. Cristo De Burgos was the Over-all Champion for BAFBEX 2016. Calayan Education Foundation Inc. won second place while Batangas State University-Malvar was adjudged third place.

Batangas Food and Beverage Exposition is an annual event organized by fourth year students of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management of De La Salle Lipa who are taking Convention Management. This is an event that provides a venue for displaying different hospitality skills for young and future hoteliers and restaurateurs. It showcases not only the talents, skills, and abilities but also enhances the creativity, uniqueness, and confidence of students. Moreover, it aims to continually share financial assistance to its chosen beneficiary, Herencia De La Salle.
