Three promising students of the College of Business, Economics, Accountancy and Management (CBEAM), major in Accountancy were selected in the 11th Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit.

The nationwide search yielded 91 participants including CBEAM's 19-year old students, Justin Cedric Yabut, Editor-in-Chief of Lavoxa Tabloid and Broadsheet; Diane Patricia Reyes, Vice President for Non-Academics of JPIA - DLSL chapter; and Charis Jane Banayat, Executive Finance Manager of the Council of Student Organizations.

Participants converged at the Marco Polo Plaza, Cebu City on the first day of the annual event then proceeded to Kool Adventure Camp, Balamban Cebu for the various activities held November 3-5, 2016 following this year's theme "Juan for the World."

The young Lasallians made the most of their rightfully earned feat as Yabut mentioned "I always take advantage of the opportunity to bond with my co-delegates so as to forge ties, and [build] friendships as well. It's very rare for most students to get to meet the country's best and brightest students of their age."

It was the difference in the experience in the case of Reyes that she weighed in, "It's not just a simple leadership camp but it is anchored in the business setting. We got to hear from Aboitiz executives and other leading businessmen [with] business concepts [which] majority of today's students only read in textbooks."

Meanwhile, Banayat got a glimpse of the future, "The AFLBS gave me a picture of how it works in the corporate world. We listened to them share their achievements and struggles while working in the different companies in the Aboitiz Group over lunch. Over dinner, we were taught lessons we can apply in school, in business and in life."

The organizers elucidated that "the carefully selected college students across the Philippines [will] learn about business and leadership. It is Aboitiz's way of affirming and inspiring continued belief in the unique and outstanding capabilities of the Filipino among today's youth. It is open to all Filipino graduating students below 25 years old taking Business/Management, Accounting, Information Technology, Engineering, Psychology, or Pre-Law."
