  Green Chevrons Reap Major, Minor Awards in Regional Tourneys

  After making their mark and leaving a lasting impression, the Green Chevrons' hard work paid off and earned their well-deserved accolades in several recently concluded tournaments.

On February 13-18, 2017, the young Lasallians reaped several awards at the Southern Tagalog CALABARZON Athletic Association (STCAA) held in Sta. Cruz Laguna. Top winners will be representing the region at the forthcoming Palarong Pambansa 2017 in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique in April 2017.   

For team events that emerged as champions in volleyball were Elementary Boys and Girls, and the High School Girls. Second runners-up in basketball were the High School Boys, and Elementary Boys.

As for swimming - individual events, medalists were Ethan Roy Go - gold in 200 Breaststroke, bronze in 100 Breaststroke, gold in 4x50m Medley, and silver in 200 Individual Medley; Ani Danya Ona - gold in 100m Breaststroke and in 200 M Breaststroke, bronze in 4x50m Medley relay, and silver in 4x50 Free Relay; Robin Luise Tolentino - silver in 200m Backstroke, silver in 4x50m Medley, bronze in 200m Backstroke, and bronze in 4x50m Free Relay; and Gabrielle Madeleine Gonzalvo - silver in 100m Butterfly and bronze 200M Breaststroke.

Bronze medalist in table tennis was Elah Sarelle Perez.

After a fruitful STCAA venture, the Green Chevrons faced their challengers at the 18th Season of the NCAA-South (second phase) held last February 21 and 22 at San Beda Alabang.

Champions in badminton were High School Girls and Boys, and College Women; champions in table tennis were High School Girls and Boys, and College Women and Men; and champions in swimming were High School Boys and College Women, while first runners-up were High School Girls and College Men. 

Meanwhile, fresh from their STCAA victory, the High School Basketball Boys successfully defended their title at the Regional National Basketball Training Center on February 26, 2017 at the SENTRUM, DLSL. The high school cagers, representing Lipa City, defeated Maryhill College of Lucena.

The team advanced to the NBTC National Finals to be held on March 13-16, 2017 at the MOA Arena. This time, the DLSL-led team will be representing Batangas and will be defending their NBTC National Champion Division II title.
