  BSBA-FM Studes Win Big in A-BEST Congress

  Attended by colleges and universities from all over the country, the De La Salle Lipa delegates shone in the 4th National Congress of the Alliance of Business Educators and Students of the Philippines, Inc. (A-BEST Phils., Inc.) last March 3-5, 2017 at the Baguio-Benguet Community Credit Cooperative Building, Assumption Rd., Baguio City.

DLSL was represented by three graduating finance students, namely Peter Adrian Castillo, Grace Ann Cipriaso and Angelica Joy Viceral together with the professors, Lanie Santos and Maria Delia Poot, and administrator, Wilfreda Dimaano, of the College of Business Economics, Accountancy and Management.

The three-day congress focused on the theme "Change Management: Multilateral Efforts Toward Unilateral Goal" which aimed to remind business educators and students that they should not be afraid to be in a totally new environment, situation and perspective.

Alongside other student representatives, the DLSL delegates competed in group and individual quiz bowls in the fields of finance, marketing, economics and management.

Moreover, together with their adviser Lanie Santos, they successfully participated in the first business concept development competition of the said national congress.

DLSL received major awards in Group Competitions: Champion - Business Quiz Bee, First Runner Up - Business Concept Development Competition; and Individual Competitions: Finalist - A-BEST Student of the Philippines - Angelica Joy Viceral, Champion - Management Quiz Bee - Peter Adrian Castillo, Second Runner Up - Economics Quiz Bee - Peter Adrian Castillo.

The congress also showcased 16 carefully selected research papers from both educators and students, four of which were from De La Salle Lipa, namely, "Effect of Workplace Spirituality and Organizational Citizenship Behavior on Organizational Health" by Wilfreda D. Dimaano, DBA; "Correlates between Parents' Perception on the Trimestral System and Openness to Change"by Lanie M. Santos, MMT; "Credit Risk Management of De La Salle Schools in Luzon" by Maria Delia M. Poot, MMT; and "Impact of Organizational Growth on the Profitability of Publicly Listed Companies in the Philippine Stock Exchange" by Peter Adrian Castillo, Grace Ann Cipriaso, Marhiel Aira Mia and Angelica Joy Viceral.

The A-BEST Phils, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2011 for the purpose of promoting quality and ethical business education in the country.
