ORP Director attends Lasallian Research Symposium in US

Office of Research and Publications Director, Gina M. Dimaano attended the Second Annual Symposium on Lasallian Research held at Saint Marys University Minnesota, USA, October 27-29.

Sponsored by the Institute for Lasallian Studies, Saint Marys University of Minnesota, the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) and the International Association of Lasallian Studies, the three-day symposium covered talks, research presentations, and workshops on Lasallian research and pedagogy, evangelization and pastoral ministry.

Participated in by more than 60 delegates from various Lasallian universities worldwide, the symposium primarily aimed to prepare common research agendas among La Salle schools through collaboration with the Lasallian educational network.

Director Dimaano presented De La Salle Lipas research activities on Food, Health and Nutrition, and Environment and Sustainability in one of the workshop sessions.

During the symposium, the proposed six metrics and targets were identified as part of IALUs research agenda. It included: "33% of IALU member institutions have research thrusts that are among those defined by IALU, one international symposium/conference every two years, USD1M of externally-funded projects involving at least 3 IALU members, USD2M scholarship fund for PhD and post-doc research on strategic themes of the IALU, three faculty exchanges per year and five joint publications per year involving at least two IALU member institutions."
