CBEAM Journal now off the press

Four scholarly works of faculty members of DLSL College of Business Economics Accountancy and Management (CBEAM) are now available in the January 2014 maiden issue of De La Salle Lipa Journal of Management. The journal likewise features two articles from Widyatama University in Indonesia, CBEAM's international partner.

Ms. Lani Garachico, Dean of CBEAM and Dr. Merlita Durana, faculty member of Accountancy Department evaluated in their paper the Accountancy program of DLSL by graduates of batches 2002-2011.

Jasmin De Silva, Sheila Maloles and Teresita Rosales of the Business Administration Department wrote about the "Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting Practices of Ten Companies in the Philippines."

Dr. Merlita Durana, Teresita Linatoc and Lanie Santos described and assessed in their study the Philippine economy based on selected work indicators.

Dr. Edgar Allan Castro, Jasmin de Silva and Nerissa Lucasia presented the development of a competency-based assessment tool designed to help HEI's in developing students' skills, knowledge and personal characteristics considered important by industry stakeholders. This was articulated in their paper "Instrument Development for Industry Based Competency Assessment of Employment Readiness of New Graduates of Business: Evidence for the Quality of Educational Service Delivery."

Articles featured in the maiden issue were from the faculty researchers of Widyatama University in Indonesia written by Intan Oviantari entitled Remuneration, Corporate Governance and Bank Performance: A Study of Indonesia. The other article was titled Empirical Study of Entrepreneurial Attitudes and Intentions among Indonesian Business Students written by Nugroho J. Setiadi and Devy Mawarnie Puspitasari.

The DLSL Journal of Management was published under the supervision of the Institution's Office of Research and Publications. Its Editorial Board consists of Amelito Castillo, Editor-in-chief; Dr. Edgar Allan Castro, Managing Editor/Lay-out artist and Joe Macatangay, Publications Manager.

Published biannually, the second issue of the journal is expected to be released in June 2014.
