Lipa City - De La Salle Lipa, after 23 years, welcomes back Batch 1983 alumnus Francis Reyes, the DAWN’s lead guitarist, in a homecoming initiated by MTV Homecoming as part of its Season 2 episodes.
Reyes was received warmly with the Integrated School headed by its Principal, Ms. Violeta Ramirez, together with students and teachers who were his former mentors in high school. An in-house high school band
joined the welcome by playing one of his band famous pieces, “Salamat”.
During the campus tour, Reyes gets nostalgic when he was guided through his former classroom wing. Delighted that his senior year classroom was still intact, in spite of the many infrastructure developments that DLSL has undertaken in the past few years, he asked and was granted permission – during an actual class – to sit in his favorite seating place.
As a gesture of gratitude to the alma mater, and as arranged by
the MTV Homecoming, Reyes and the rest of the DAWN members performed in the afternoon to an enthusiastic crowd of DLAL students, faculty and staff.
