After the success of the fist industry consultation for the Computer Engineering and Computer Science programs, the College of Business, Education, Accountancy and Management (CBEAM), had its turn to take a closer look at the BS Commerce Major in Business Management program at the Boardroom of Sen. Jose Diokno Bldg. last May 3, 2006.

Joined in by 10 faculty members from the CBEAM, industry practitioners from various organizations engaged in a focus group discussion to assess the applicability of the current curriculum of the Business Management. Guest participants who shared their expertise on the field were Ms. Arlene Lukang, Area Manager, BPI - Lipa; Mr. Christopher Jacob, AVP HR / Admin, Nittetsu Micrometal Corp.; Mr. Angelo Carandang, Branch Manager, SM City Batangas; Mr. Arturo Bajacan, Operations Support Manager, JG Summit Petrochemical Corp.; Mr. Jimmy Siybauco, President, Entrepreneurs Society of the Philippines with co-member, Mr. Jerwin Dy; and DLSL representatives, Mr. Mauricio Lingao, Company Linkage Coordinator, Mr. Arnold Capuloy, Finance and Human Resource Director, Ms. Cecilia Quigley, HR Manager, and Ms. Jhyn Concordia, FRD Manager.

Ms. Nerissa Lucasia moderated the FGD session after the introduction of the CBEAM programs by the Dr. Corazon L. Abansi, Vice President for Academics and Research. The 11/2 hour discussion focused on the scope of the OJT training, the adopted hiring procedures and techniques by participating organizations and the possible link-up of the academe with the industry. Stirred to increase the employability of DLSL graduates, the consultation program hoped to improve the academic standards based on the practitioners' recommendations in line with the technological advancement in the management field.
