Ms. Christine B. Mayor from Tambo, Lipa City was crowned Miss Lipa Tourism 2006 on May 26, at the CAP Building. The 5-foot-6 bested other 11 contestants in the prestigious beauty pageant. Ms. Mayor, a 20-year-old BS Psychology senior also won the Best in Swimsuit award. Christine is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Mayor. She is a member of DLSL Psychology Society.
Ms. Joanne Mariel Sanchez, 16, and Ms. Aizel Jenine D. Permel, 16, also both from DLSL, won 2nd Runner-up and Ms. Friendship respectively.
Candidates underwent a thorough screening in April of this year. The contest is composed of a series of preliminary tests that included talent, swimsuit and evening gown competition.
Miss Lipa Tourism Search has long been an existing project of the Lipa City Tourism Council, with its Chairman Mr. Pancho Lardizabal.
