The Network of Calabarzon Educational Institution (NOCEI) hosted the annual Research Forum with the theme “Convergence and Synergy: Strengthening Regional Ties through Research" on 19 May 2006 at the Lyceum of Batangas. Selected faculty members from the CEAS, CBEAM and CITE witnessed 26 researches from different NOCEI member schools.
Organized by the Research Committee led by Dr. Emmanuel F. Calairo of DLSU-Dasmariñas, with enormous support from the NOCEI Board of Trustees headed by Br. Manuel R. Pajarillo FSC, Ph.D., the forum featured researches in the areas of Peace, Cultural Heritage, Engineering, Math, IT, Business & Industry, Social Development & Gender Issues, Environment & Natural Sciences and Education.
Former Area Chair of Social Science , Renato Maligaya presented the paper, Ang Karahasang Dulot ng Militarismong Hapones sa Silangang Bahagi ng Lipa 1944-1945, together with faculty researches from DLSU-Dasmarinas and Lyceum of Batangas in simultaneous sessions on cultural heritage. DLSL Cultural Officer, Ms. Ella Kristina Domingo co- authored a paper on "PNP Text 2920 Service: A Communication Perspective on M-Government in the Philippine Context".
The forum was a prelude to the many lined up activities of the NOCEI Research Committee.
