De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Lasallian Partners (LPs) took part in an educational technology (EduTech) workshop entitled “EduTech, Taking the Lead Step”, Jan. 11 to 12, 2018, at the Diokno Auditorium.
An EduTech expert from De La Salle Santiago Zobel, Mr. Mark Mendoza (also a DLSL alumnus), shared about the latest open-source EduTech tools and courseware authoring. Meanwhile, faculty champions from the College and the Senior High School conducted hands-on re-training sessions in utilizing Canvas, DLSL’s learning management system (LMS).
Faculty champions who imparted their know-how included Dr. Aileen Joy Saul, Engr. Josielynn Asi, Ms. Madel Ocampo, Dr. Edgar Allan Castro, Mr. Randy Palestina, Mr. Rodante Chavez, Mr. Emil Macaso, Mr. Fred Amul, and Ms. Jaylyn Sanchez.
Br. Dante Jose R. Amisola FSC, President and Chancellor, likewise graced the event as he delivered a message on the second day of the workshop. He reiterated his vision of getting all teachers on-board Canvas by August 2018. By that time, teachers will have already fully integrated all courses and lessons via the LMS. Moreover, students will also be encouraged to take advantage of professional certifications on certain competencies in line with DLSL’s Digital Campus Plan.
The event drew to a close with a discussion of policies and an open forum.
