For two years in a row, the Council of Student Organizations (CSO) has successfully organized the 10,000 BC: Bottles for a Cause, Bottles for Christmas, with this year’s theme: “Para maging mabuti ka, kailangan maging mabote ka.” The said organization collated 10,000 plastic bottles, based on their target, which made-up the giant Christmas tree that was lit on the 4 December at the Sentrum.

The lighting ceremony was preceded with spectacular numbers from the pool of talents in the college department. Various organizations participated in the very entertaining program, showcasing their extraordinary and outstanding talents in singing, and dancing to the tune of yuletide carol medley. Another group displayed its members’ acting prowess through the “Panuluyan 2009” – a dramatization on Christ’s nativity.

The project was conceived to support the institutional waste management project and its environmental advocacies, and to raise fund for the group’s chosen charitable institution, the Haven, as the beneficiary. This is the college organizations’ means of sharing the Christmas spirit in a Lasallian manner.

Because of the originality and relevance of the remarkable expression of the concept, the project was featured in TV Patrol - Southern Tagalog by Ms. Tina Ganzon.

Coinciding in the event was the lantern-making contest - a related project of the 10,000 BC 2009, where the Society of Business Leaders (SBL) was declared as the winner. All the entries for the said competition were exhibited during the same program.
