The CIO Assembly Held

In De La Salle Lipa, corporate social responsibility is not solely assigned to the Community Involvement Office (CIO) for it is everyone’s duty. In fact, each and every Lasallian gets involved in the various outreach programs of the institution. Consequently, for those who went out of their way and walked the extra mile to extend their services, due recognition was given during the recently concluded College Community Involvement Assembly held at the Mini Auditorium of the Mabini Hall on June 3.

 

College faculty and staff convened to partake in the bi-annual event and openly received the warm welcome from the President and Chancellor, Brother Joaquin S. Martinez FSC, D. Min., in the opening remarks. He likewise commended the unceasing efforts of the Lasallian partners for their valuable contributions and for making each endeavor a success.       

 

In the same event, video presentations of the accomplishment report of the CIO for school year 2009-2010, as well as the action plan for this school year were both disclosed.

 

The invited speaker for the occasion – Asst. Prof. Jose S, Cruz III, Director, Office for Community Development, University of Sto. Tomas, expounded on the event’s theme: “Enriching the Curriculum through Community Involvement” while Ms. Violeta Ramirez, Vice Chancellor for Mission and concurrent CIO Director, spoke on “Bringing to Life the Lasallian Social Development.”

 

Later in the gathering, “CIO Award of Recognition” was given to the following recipients who rendered the most number of hours: 1) Mr. Bernardo C. Lunar – 410 hrs, 2) Dr. Yolanda D. Africa – 364.5 hrs, 3) Ms. Bernadette K. Dimaculangan – 302 hrs, 4) Ms. Violeta L. Andaleon – 296 hrs, 5) Ms. Teresita D. Linatoc – 282 hrs, 6) Ms. Nora M. Sarmiento – 226 hrs, 7) Mr. Mark Anthony G. De Vera – 217 hrs, 7) Ms. Ma. Theresa M. Mangulabnan – 217 hrs, 8) Ms. Irish A. Dimaculangan – 206 hrs, 9) Ms. Mary Grace D. Mercado – 202 hrs, 10) Mr. Richard C. Logro – 201 hrs.

 

The following offices were also given due credit and were awarded with certificates of appreciation for “invaluable contribution and continuing support to the Community Involvement Activities /Program,”: College Learning Resource Center, Discipline Office, Student Activities Office, Guidance Office and Hotel Operations.

 

A certificate was likewise given to the outgoing Community Involvement Coordinators, namely: Ms. Connie Endozo – Student Services, Engr. Robert De Luna – CITE, and Ms. Vangie Necio – CIHTM.

 

Lastly, the incoming Community Involvement Coordinators from the College Department were announced and welcomed by the CIO. The new coordinators for school year 2010-2011 are Ms. Tess Linatoc – CBEAM, Mr. Bernard Lunar – CEAS, Mr. Richard Logro – CoNursing, Mr. Julius Limon – Student Services, Chef Shirley De Jesus – CIHTM, and Engr. Paulo Chaves – CITE.
