La Salle Institute of Culinary Arts (LICA) brings forth another occasion as a notable chapter unfolds in their students’ culinary instruction.
Commencing the event with a Eucharistic Celebration, with Rev. Fr. Russel Matuloy, school chaplain, as the celebrant, the ceremony was held at the Capilla De San Juan Bautista De La Salle on November 11.
In the welcome remarks, LICA Head, Chef Shirley De Jesus, stated that the ceremony served as a great inspiration for the aspiring chefs to carry on and fulfill their dreams. She also acknowledged the sacrifices of the parents for their continuous support.
Vice Chancellor for Academic and Research (VCAR), Dr. Alice Botardo, gave the remarks of the occasion. Similar to the topic of Fr. Russel’s homily, the VCAR explained the significance of the jacket, elaborating on its function and the responsibility that comes with their future profession.
The inspirational message of DLSL President, Br. Joaquin Martinez FSC, D. Min., contained words of encouragement. He dwelled on sources of inspiration in one’s daily life that motivate the people to continue the common tasks in their career.
The Cultural Ambassadors of Lipa City – De La Salle Voices was also present in the special occasion to serenade the attendees with their world-class performance.
Ms. Joy Zapata, Dean-College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, completed the celebration with her closing remarks. Praise and compliments were generously given by the dean. She congratulated the students for taking another concrete step in the completion of their education.
