From its humble beginnings, fifty years ago, De La Salle Lipa has reached a milestone.

Celebrating the golden jubilee of the institution, initially on June 6 for the soft launching, and on June 28 for the grand launching, the entire community was in unison for the momentous occasion.

The solemn and surreal ceremony on the soft launching kicked off the year-long celebration. Despite the modest event, it gathered people from the past and the present which led to a fruition of a perfect commemoration. The event began with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist followed by the laying of the time capsule, which included an original copy of the following: a print advertisement, the school´s daily bulletin of the same date, a collection of written messages, the present school logo, the golden jubilee seal, the first school logo, and other written mementos from various sectors of the school. A specially made granite marker stands on it to immortalize its significance. Justice Jose Mendoza, pioneer batch ´63 and Mr. Elmer Almodovar, a pioneer administrator, were among those who spoke on the special occasion in behalf of their contemporaries.

On the other hand, the grand launching served as the ultimate expression of the DLSL community´s gratitude for the overwhelming blessings of the institution for the past fifty years. Each member of the community participated in an array of fun-filled yet meaningful extravaganzas. Opening the program with a con-celebrated Holy Mass led by His Eminence Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, the event was also graced by Batangas Vice Gov. Mark Leviste and Lipa City Mayor Meynard Sabili.

The festive mood could be felt all over the campus while the contagious animo radiating from every Lasallian made the festivity all the more unforgettable. And this was only the beginning of a year-round celebration for the golden anniversary of the institution.
