The paper "Status of Biodiversity in Mt. Malarayat, Batangas, Philippines won for Mr. Bernardo C. Lunar the title "Asian Best Oral Presenter" for Species Category (Plants) during the Second Asian Journal of Biodiversity Professional Lectures held in Cagayan de Oro City, April 27-28.
In the same event, the paper was given the Platinum Award for Outstanding Biodiversity Publication.
Criteria for judging the Best Oral Presenter included time structure and visuals, 50%; expertise and mastery, 15%; and total personality package and formal attire, 35%.
Meanwhile, the Outstanding Asian Biodiversity Publication was chosen based on originality of research, 5%; quality of publication, 20% and relevance/potential impact to the region and the country, 30%. The paper of Lunar and Arcega with funding from Commission on Higher Education Zonal Research Center (CHED ZRC) Grants-in-Aid was likewise published in the Asian Journal of Biodiversity which is an international publication.
The event had the theme: "International Year of Sustainable Energy for All."
