Terms like blankspots, blindspots, exogenous, endogenous, simulacrum among others became buzz words as some College faculty of DLSL attended a one-day seminar on Writing for International Publication facilitated by Dr. Allan de Guzman of UST held at the LIRD Lounge, June 1.
Sponsored by the Research and Publications Office, the seminar which aimed to "deepen and widen teachers conceptual understanding of the nature and process of research as it applies to various disciplines" exposed the participants to the various innovations in Research Writing that would cater for International Standards.
Dr. de Guzman, recipient of the 2011 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Teacher in Higher Education Category has to date, a total of 94 international publications in leading journals worldwide inspired the participants with his real-life experiences both as researcher and teacher. He informed the participants of some changes in hypothesis, title, and topic formulation along with Likert scale. He also shared some tips on how to put substance into the parts of a publishable paper.
At the end of the session, the participants learned, relearned and unlearned about research writing for international publication.
