COMMUNITY-BASED ACTION PROJECT
Inspired by the new Institutional Mission – Vision and Educational Innovation Framework, CAPSTONE Initiatives drives the institutional direction to address real world challenges with real world solutions. CAPSTONE is an acronym for “Community Action-based Project addressing Strategically-Themed learning Objectives through Networked Environments.” This initiative is embedded in the new Curriculum as a platform for a novel and innovative way of learning as defined in the following:

Learning through Engagement (communication)
It enables the learners to hone their communication skills through various engagement with other learners, Lasallian Partners, community partners and leaders of the community. It provides opportunities to further discuss the emerging issues and challenges of the community at large and at the same time propose solutions relative to the issues and challenges.

It enables the learners to be equipped with the conglomeration of frameworks of the Design Thinking, SEE – JUDGE – ACT, Project Management, and Future Thinking Skills which are necessary to address real world challenges with real world solutions in a networked learning environment. It allows the learners to identify challenges and design solutions on the basis of the gathered baseline data from the community at large.
Learning with Social Impact (critical thinking)
It enables the learners to think critically and act effectually on the emerging issues and challenges of the community through CAPSTONE Initiatives. It develops among the learners the knowledge, skills and competencies grounded on Fundamentals of Social Innovation such as Global Issues, Inclusion, Sustainability and Development Economics and Circular Economy. It is further intensified by engaging diverse stakeholders in promoting the Lasallian Mission of giving quality human and Christian education to all.
