De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) alumni walked down memory lane, reconnected with good old friends, and returned to their Alma Mater during the annual Grand Alumni Homecoming, Dec. 30, 2017.
DLSL High School (HS) Batch 1992, the Silver Jubilarians, hosted this year’s homecoming with the theme “A Night (92) to Remember.” The event highlighted batch mementos, ‘90s hits, teachers’ and students’ memories in videos, and recognized alumni and teachers. Friendly sports tournaments also took place, with the participation of the host batch and other alumni.
The occasion commenced with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at the Capilla de San Juan Bautista de La Salle, presided by Fr. Russell B. Matuloy.
The merriment went on at the SENTRUM as the host batch recognized their former teachers, namely Ms. Malu Rosales-Navales, Mr. Morris Lingao, Mr. Rosel Sumcad, Ms. Juliet Sumcad, Mr. Arnulfo Aquino, and Mr. Rogger Basco. As part of the batch, Lipa City Vice Mayor Eric Africa also delivered welcome remarks as batch representative and as one of the city’s public figures.
Guest performers likewise rendered special numbers, highlighted by ‘90s singing sensation Wency Cornejo rendering his most popular tunes. Raffle prizes were given away, together with special awards for alumni and teachers.
HS Batch ’92, in coordination with the Office of Strategy and Advancement, donated Php300,000.00 for DLSL’s Scholarship Endowment Fund, an additional Php115,000.00 for the Br. Gene Tianco FSC Scholarship Endowment Fund, and science laboratory equipment.
