The Medical Transcription Certificate Program
is offered to address the critical shortage of qualified MTs in the medical industry. Students will be honed with knowledge in transcription of medical records and will be taught in major areas such as training and keyboarding, medical terminology and transcription.
This 759 hours program, inclusive of on-the-job training (OJT), is offered on a modular basis. Students are exposed to actual medical transcription practice of no less than 489 hours of OJT. Special arrangements with various accredited MT partner companies such as DataMed,
e-Scribir and SPI Technologies Inc., were made to expose students to actual workplace. Affiliations with these establishments include sharing of resources, faculty and OJT of students.

Medical Transcription includes a sophisticated yet simple method of listening to voice data and converting it in a hardcopy and readable form. The medical transcriptionist (MT) transcribes medical report from a doctor's dictations to document a patient's medical care and condition. Usually carried out for medical professionals operating out of small clinics to large hospitals, the transcribed records are used for purposes of archives, reference or serve as legal proof of medical advice. |
