This manual enumerates and describes the different job functions and responsibilities of administrative officials, councils and committees at d La Salle Lipa, particularly the College.

It clarifies the individual and collective roles of school administrators and office heads while at the same time provides an avenue for a better understanding of management dynamics in the community. It contains guidelines needed by administrators and heads for effective and efficient management of their units.

This manual is a product of the collaborative efforts if the College administration and faculty and staff representatives. It is a revision of the 2003 edition of the Administration Manual. Changes made were introduced by the different representatives of the various sectors.

The contents are true for the current set-up. Revision can be done only after careful deliberation of the committee designated for the purpose. In case of supplementary information, everyone will be provided such information for proper guidance.

 
Overview
 
The VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMICS AND RESEARCH (VCAR) is the chief academic officer of De La Salle Lipa. She is responsible for encouraging and promoting the highest standards of academic life possible on campus through the encouragement and promotion of new programs, educational innovations, and research output and through providing leadership and guidance in all the academic areas of the De La Salle Lipa. She is also responsible for programs and services that support the academic endeavors of De La Salle Lipa.
 
Specific Functions
The VCAR's specific functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
  1. Monitoring and promoting continuing development and improvement of regular academic programs through educational innovations, in-service trainings, general assemblies and workshops of faculty, etc.
  2. Recommending the establishment of new programs
  3. Recommending the discontinuation of existing but moribund programs
  4. Recommending hiring, promotions, permanency, and extended service for faculty and academic staff in consultation with immediate subordinates
  5. Recommending nominees for special Faculty Merit or Excellence Awards, Dean/Professor Emeritus status, etc.
  6. Approving Faculty and Staff Evaluation Tools and Instruments
  7. Approving of proposed academic conferences, symposia, colloquia, festshrifts and other academic gatherings to be hosted by DLS Lipa
  8. Recommending approval of MOA's concerning academic and industrial linkages
  9. Approving faculty and staff study, research and travel grants

The President, in consultation with the Chancellor. The Board ofTrustees is informed and confirms the appointment made by the President.
