  Selection Process

The process for the search and selection of the dean shall normally be initiated four months before the post becomes vacant. The Nominations Committee should first be convened by the VCAR. They will choose a Chair and then decide on the procedure to be adopted when locating suitable candidates. Such procedure may include advertising publicly, issuing a call for an internal candidate, or any other appropriate course of action.

Following the agreed-upon search process, the Nominations Committee shall then draw up a shortlist of candidates. Recommendation should be based on the normal requirements of the curricula vitae, reports and interview and any other information which the committee determines to be valuable.

The name of the chosen candidate shall be submitted to the VCAR for endorsement to the Chancellor and President.
