  Study Leave Grant
 
  1. Objective
  2. The Study Leave Grant is intended to assist faculty members in the final phase of their dissertation writing. The grant is intended to benefit individuals with their current work and ultimately education and research as a whole.

  3. Criteria
  4. The scheme is open to all full-time faculty members, however, application for the grant shall be evaluated using the following criteria.
    1. Performance evaluation in the last 6 consecutive semesters
    2. Recommendation from Chair/Dean/Research and Publications Director
    3. Length of service
    4. Age
    5. Research outputs/experience
    6. Administrative experience (Applicable to applicant whose doctorate is educational management/administration)
    7. Record of attendance in school activities such as seminars, faculty development programs, departmental meetings and assemblies as reflected in the residency form
    8. Previous availment of grant

  5. Application and Screening Procedure
    1. A written letter of intent shall be filed to the Office of the Dean. The letter should include following:
      1. A copy of the dissertation proposal
      2. Work plan (duly noted by the adviser) certifying that dissertation is in its final phase. By final it is understood that the manuscript is ready for defense.
      3. Recommendation of the Department Chair and Dean
    2. All applications shall be evaluated by the Study Leave Grant Committee according to the criteria set in II. In addition, the following shall be considered:
      1. Physical fitness
      2. Moral character
    3. Final approval of application shall be made by the OVCAR.

  6. Qualifications of the Grantee
    1. A full-time employee of De La Salle Lipa
    2. Maintains an efficiency rating of at least 4.0 every semester for the last two school years
    3. Has potential for responsible leadership
    4. Is physically fit for the program
  7. Documentation
    1. The grantee shall submit a progress report to the OVCAR.
    2. The grantee shall present an abridged version of his/her paper in the Doctoral Lecture Series and in the College Research Forum.

  8. Terms and Conditions
    1. This grant is open for full time faculty members who are already in their final phase of dissertation writing.
    2. A maximum of one-month study leave is allowed.
    3. Study leaves are normally without pay. However, if the area is a priority and the study leave is of great importance to the Department/College, then interest-free loans may be arranged.
    4. A maximum of one-month salary can be loaned.
    5. No interest shall be charged on such loan and it is payable in equal semi-monthly installments through salary deductions for one year.
    6. A grantee can consider paying the loan through service to the College (overload without pay), or by a combination of both, i.e. salary deduction and overload without pay.
    7. The grantee shall coordinate with HRD his/her study leave through accomplishing the leave ofabsence form.
    8. A study leave contract duly notarized should be accomplished by the grantee and the school representative that stipulates the above terms and conditions.
