Guidelines for Thesis / Dissertation Assistance - IS
Objective
Thesis/dissertation grants/assistance are awarded to individuals to complete their doctoral dissertation or thesis research.
Criteria
Availment of grant will be competitive in nature across all departments. The evaluation of grant applications will use the following criteria:
Employment status
Performance evaluation in the last 6 consecutive semesters
Recommendation from immediate superior
Length of service
Age
Previous academic record
School were enrolled
Degree
Potential impact of thesis/dissertation
Relevance to the field of specialization, to Batangas society in general
Previous availment of grant
Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled at a graduate program related to his field of specialization at the time of application
Application must be made jointly with a thesis adviser who will undertake responsibility for supervising the research project.
Awards are contingent upon the applicant's successful completion of all requirements for the degree other than the dissertation/thesis. Applications may be submitted before such requirements have been met. However, should an award be approved, the school will at that time request evidence that the applicant is "all-but-dissertation/advanced-to-candidacy."
Application and Screening Procedure
A written letter of intent shall be filed to the Office of the Integrated School Principal not later than a month before the start of the following academic term together with the following documents:
Proposal (refer to Annex 1 for proposal format)
Proposed budget
Recommendation from the Assistant Principal/Principal
Letter of confirmation by the adviser
All applications shall be screened by the Scholarship Committee who shall recommend theranking of applicants according to the criteria set in (II).
Final approval of application rests on the VCAR. All applications recommended by the committee shall be submitted to the VCAR within a week after the deadline set for submission of applications.
