Lasallian Partners (LPs) from the Institutional Safety, Security and Emergency Services Office (ISSESO), General Services Department (GSD), Integrated School (IS), College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (CIHTM), Discipline Office (DO), and representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Public Order and Safety (CPOS), and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC) took part in the Earthquake & Landslide Search and Rescue Orientation Course (ELSAROC) conducted in the DLSL campus, October 7 to 8.
Organized by the ISSESO and the Human Resources Department (HRD), the said course was conducted by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Search and Rescue (SAR) Team to 34 participants. These training exercises were held to further equip LPs in responding to disasters and natural calamities. The two-day training consisted of four modules packed with written examinations and rigorous SAR exercises on hazard and disaster management concepts, conducting SAR inside collapsed structures, fundamental SAR techniques, and extracting and caring for victims of the collapsed structure.
