In commemoration of the feast day of the eight Lasallian saints martyred in Turon, Spain, Lasallian Partners from the Legions of St. Marciano (Explorer), St. Julian (Incredible), and St. Cirilo (Skilled) conducted a form of Agape Meal at the kiosks near the Capilla de San Juan Bautista de La Salle, Oct. 9, 2017.
The said Partners distributed snacks to outsourced personnel (maintenance and security) at 9 AM – also a simple yet symbolic feast that recalls the meals Jesus took part in with his disciples while performing his ministry. It also expressed koinoia or Christian fellowship as a source of delight for Christ’s family.
Every Lasallian saint’s feast day will likewise be celebrated by other Lasallian Partners belonging to their respective legions.
DLSL’s Brothers League Program was implemented starting SY 2017-2018 and was set to promote Lasallian Partners’ wellness, welfare and well-being – also highly regarding communion in mission. It also takes on the aspiration that “Lasallian Partners are modern heroes, with their own strengths and uniqueness.” Other Legion saints include the following: St. Benilde (Extraordinary), St. Jaime (Exceptional), St. Mutien Marie (Vigilant), St. Miguel (Simplicity), and Solomon (Passionate).
The Brothers League Program’s origins can be traced back to Saint Joseph School – La Salle (SJS-LS) in 2004 when an alumna shared her vision to a Lasallian Brother – that students will be given the chance to work together, discover together and achieve together by being grouped into Houses. After some years, the program was adopted by La Salle Academy in Iligan City, La Salle College in Antipolo City, and De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde.
