Project Performance Evaluation
At the completion of Project K under the Ford Foundation grant, it is but fitting to have an evaluation of its performance in terms of major project components. From the beginning of the project, protocols for project monitoring, evaluation and reporting were developed by the project management team. Internal monitoring is facilitated by quarterly and annual reports. Annual reports are made based on progress reports and evaluation workshops. The annual report consists of two major components, the narrative report and the financial report. These reports provided important inputs in making adjustments in planned activities. Troubleshooting/adjustments on program implementation are also done based on monitoring results.

In Addition to regular exercise, external monitoring and evaluation were conducted by a third party at the end of the project. The evaluation components focused on the following:

  1. Reading performance of students based on two major indicators
    • National Achivement and Regional Achivement Test
    • Internally made exam administered to total student population at the beginning and end of Project K.
  2. Effectiveness of trainings and other capability-building activities conducted for teachers.
  3. Effectiveness of student workboooks.
  4. Usability of teacher's manual.
  5. Extent of multi-stakeholder partnership and participation.
  6. over-all assessment of Project K based on major performance indicators.
