    Participation in Synergeia Tipanan Fellowship

Synergeia Foundation, the education network where Project K is a member, hosted an education expo of various education programs all over the country. Dubbed as “Tipanan”, the activity served as venue for the education programs to promote their activities, participate in thematic workshops and Fellowship Night and Christmas bazaars. For two consecutive years (2004 and 2005), Tipanan was held at WOW Philippines Clamshell in Intramuros, Manila.

“Building a Learning Community” –The First National Covenant on Education
A signing of covenant between mayors and governors from all over the country and former DepEd Secretary Florencio Abad was held on June 29, 2005 at the Asian Institute of Management. The covenant defined the commitments between local governments and DepEd in transforming local school boards as a primary mover of the community in providing quality basic education to children. Project K participated in this covenant to ensure a progressive learning community in Lipa City.

Project K in GALING AWARDS 2006
In line with Lipa City’s 59th Foundation Day Celebration, the City Community Affairs Office, in cooperation with Project K, launched the first division-wide search for most outstanding public schools and teachers. Dubbed as G.A.L.I.N.G. Awards (Guro: Ang Lipenong Ipinagmamalaki ng Gobyerno), the affair marked the start of the city’s week-long celebration and was held on the 13th of July 2006 at Lipa Plaza Independecia.

This activity was conceptualized in recognition of the public school teachers’ efforts in contributing to the literacy development of Lipa City. The nominees, both from the elementary and secondary levels, were carefully selected and judged by a special screening committee headed by Atty. Agripino Bravo of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO). Hon. Mayor Vilma Santos-Recto led the awarding ceremonies along with Dr. Corazon Abansi, Executive Director of Project K. Plaques of recognition and cash incentives were conferred to each of the contest winners.
