Yearly, the Department of Education (DepEd) conducts Pre-Oral and Post-Oral Reading Assessment Tests to selected grade level pupils. DepEd carries out three different tests, which include the Division Achievement Test (DAT), National Achievement Test (NAT) and the Regional Achievement Test (RAT).
In March 2004, Project K witnessed one Oral Reading Assessment Test. The result of the reading assessment was analyzed using statistical tools and was presented in the De La Salle Lipa Research Forum. In line with this, Project K started gathering data to study the performance in reading of Lipa to determine the effectiveness of Project K.
Because of inconsistency in conducting the above tests, Project K gathered incomplete data from DepEd Division of Lipa Office (Division office). The Division Office explained that the data they were receiving is already processed and summarized.
The data was somehow completed with the data gathered from the DepEd Regional Office. Rankings and Mean Scores of the whole Region IV-CALABARZON were obtained and analyzed. These data are still in the process of statistical analysis and discussion.
