First Consultation Meeting The initial meeting between the Department of Education, Lipa City Government and De La Salle Lipa was held in the Department of Education Division Office on 19 November 2002. It was concluded in the meeting that the first thing to be done is to assess the proficiency of grades I-IV pupils in Lipa City public schools in Math, Science and English.
Meeting with Barangay Captains Dr. Corazon Abansi and Mayor Vilma Santos Recto oriented the barangay captains of Lipa City regarding Project K during their weekly meeting at the Lipa City Hall on 09 June 2003. Dr. Abansi discussed, in general, the strategic plan and the past activities of the project. She also answered the questions of the barangay captains regarding the subject. Mayor Recto and Dr. Abansi also took this opportunity to invite the barangay captains to the First Educational Congress in Reading on 12 June 2003.

A seminar for building bridges across barangay leaders and parents was held at the MTDC Auditorium at De La Salle Lipa. Dr. Antonio Torralba, the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Asia and the Pacific and a member of the Board of Trustees of Synergeia Foundation, was the resource person. The seminar was inspirational in nature and aimed at encouraging the parents and the barangay leaders to work together with the school in promoting love for education among the children.
Dr. Torralba’s humor and adeptness in moving the audience led to the success of this seminar.
