A total of 126 senior citizens from Barangays San Carlos, San Salvador, Tambo, and Mataas Na Lupa, with the Board of Directors of LIFCOSA, participated in this year´s "SAYA Alay Kay Lolo at Lola" - the annual tradition of the Community Involvement Office´s program – "Lasalyanong Pagtugon at Pagbubukas-Palad" – outreach activity.

This event never fails to please the elderly of Lipa for they are given special attention and "tender loving care" that they deserve by 829 junior college students who assisted the organizers.

A program, specially prepared for them was presented by the students as well as select faculty members. Dr. Felina Marasigan rendered song numbers that fellow senior citizens could easily relate to. Her performance was followed by a tutorial number by the juniors helping the audience dance to the moves of cha-cha; while select talented singers of the college department entertained the guests with power vocals. And a coronation took place for the winners of "Yan ang Lolo at Lola Mo 2013" – a mini beauty pageant.

The juniors took charge of the committees that were divided among them like the registration, food distribution, medical assistance, ushering, and served as games facilitators and emcees – Chrison Masangcay and Zaldy Luistro.

Other volunteers, namely, Les Lasallian Lumieres; Jopia Rosalinda, Rosemarie Mendenilla, Rino de Sagun, Richard Logro, Conrada Bacong, and Bernardino Jose Rama from the College of Nursing; Jun Maalihan, Shermen Aranza, Connie Endozo and Michael Kasilag of the Discipline Office; and Merlita Durana from the College of Business, Economics, Accountancy, and Management, helped make the event even more special.

The guests went home not only with smile on their faces, but with bags full of groceries and umbrellas as tokens.
