

The Philippine Council of Deans and Educators in Business (PCDEB) together with De La Salle Lipa College of Business, Economics, Accountancy, and Management (CBEAM) held a Midyear Conference with the theme “The Future of Business Education in 4.0 IR” last November 14-15, 2019 at the Nexus Innovation Labs.
The first day of the conference included learning sessions such as the following: “Emerging Realities from the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, “Education’s Response to the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, “From Potential to Purpose: Thriving in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution”, and “The Future of Jobs for the 4thIndustrial Revolution”. Speakers include Paolo Balinas, the Enterprise Channel Manager of Microsoft; Rev. Father Stephen Redilas, O.P., Vice President for Planning Innovation and Development; Myke Celis, M.A., C.M.P., internationally certified life coach, bestselling author, multimedia host, international TEDx speaker, and entrepreneur; and Homer Villa, President of LMAP and Regional Industry and Senior Client Advisor at Manila Lean Sensei. These all focused on best practices and strategies to respond to the fourth Industrial Revolution and the future of jobs.
On the other hand, the conference’s second day centered on workshops on Learning Management Systems Tools and Blended Learning Tools through talks and workshops by Aljay Martinez, teacher from DLSL’s College of Education, Arts and Sciences and Mark Mendoza, a teacher from De La Salle Zobel.
Mr. Alan Pagsuyuin, Conference Chair, reiterated on the need for such learning sessions to promote awareness on blended or flip learning as well as to respond to the needs of the times.
