De La Salle Lipa is pleased to share that the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) has granted its BS Hospitality Management and BS Tourism Management programs Level III accreditation.
The PAASCU Level III status was granted last July 7, 2020 and will be valid until May 2023 as a result of the school’s fast track application last December 2019.
As Level III accredited programs, BS Hospitality Management and BS Tourism Management will enjoy the following benefits and incentives:
- All the benefits for Level I/II.
- Authority to offer new courses allied to existing Level III courses without the need for prior approval, provided that the concerned CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) is duly informed.
- Privilege to apply for authority to offer new graduate programs, open learning/distance education, extension, and to participate in transnational education.
In 2016, DLSL Integrated School also earned a Level III status — the first for a large-scale integrated school to achieve the distinction in the province of Batangas. Other DLSL college programs to achieve PAASCU Level III status include Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Communication, Biology, Psychology, Mathematics, Bachelor in Elementary Education and major in Special Education, Secondary Education majors in Mathematics, Filipino, English and Social Studies, and Business Administration majors in Business Economics, Financial Management, and Marketing Management. According to PAASCU, accreditation is a concept that is based on self-regulation focusing on evaluation and the continuous improvement of educational quality. PAASCU also described it as a process by which an institution or a program continuously upgrade their educational quality and services through self-evaluation and the judgment of peers. To be granted accreditation, an educational institution or program must meet commonly accepted standards of quality or excellence.
