The BS Psychology program exposes and trains the students in the scientific study of individual and group mental and behavioral processes. The program provides disciplinal and professional practice that will contribute to national development through basic and applied research and interventions. It includes initial training for teaching, research and the practice of Psychology in clinical, industrial and school settings. Furthermore, the program delivers preparations for graduate studies in other professions (medicine, law and business management) and specialized fields in Psychology (clinical, counseling, developmental, educational, social, and industrial/organizational).
The AB Communication program aims to equip the students with the knowledge and skills in the theory and practice of communication applicable in the various professions and contexts with emphasis on media professions. It is a field of study that includes a broad range of subject matter ranging from the study of communication in interpersonal relationships, groups, organizations, and cultures.
The BS Biology Program is an academic discipline that has broadened and diversified with the development of advanced laboratory equipment and sophisticated techniques. This has led to a dynamic development of research in all levels of biological complexity. The core program and curriculum concentrates on the basic concepts in Biology: structure/function; regulation; growth; development and evolution while undergoing education and training under the diversified specialized micro areas of biology.
The primary goals of the program are to produce graduates imbued with Lasallian values grounded with the fundamental concepts, principles, and theories of the biological, natural and physical sciences and the conduct of research, integrate trends in the teaching and the conduct of research in the field, and respond to the needs and demands of the environment.
Bachelor of Multimedia Arts
BACHELOR OF MULTIMEDIA ARTS
The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts, grounded on design, technology and the visual arts, is a field of interdisciplinary study geared towards creative and effective storytelling and expression through the convergence of digital media technologies, forms and practices.
The Bachelor of Multimedia Arts aligns itself to the rapid convergence of media technologies and practices by developing conceptual, technical, aesthetic and professional competencies for effective, critical and innovative storytelling across a range of combination of media forms for various purposes. It recognizes that digital media collapse different modes of expression and communication networks that allow for an interface of the local and global, the national and transnational. Thus, the program aims to create competent digital artists and communicators capable of disseminating a national idiom whereby Philippine cultural contexts, identities and formations are articulated in global and transnational discourse.
The goals of the program include the following: (1) To provide an engaging sequence of learning experiences that prepare students for successful careers in their chosen fields; (2) To equip students with the necessary technical proficiency and skill on the use of existing technologies and to make them readily adaptable to emerging ones; (3) To create a stimulating environment in which students’ creativity can find effective expression; (4) To equip students with appropriate skills and attitudes regarding business and management relevant to the characteristics of their chosen fields; (5) To form well-rounded students who are proficient in the use of various ICT tools yet solidly grounded in the humanities.

De La Salle Lipa (DLSL), De La Salle University (DLSU), and De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) launched the Philippine Journal “Sinaya” on April 29, 2021 during the virtual De La Salle University SHS Research Congress from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. via Zoom.
Proponents of this project aim to introduce a new form of academic activity in relation to collaborative research work of senior high school mentors and learners in the country.
The advocates acknowledged that the academic journal is the most essential method of sharing the results of research activities. Essentially, learning encompasses the creation as well as sharing of knowledge among stakeholders.
The project ensures that research teachers from the De La Salle schools as well as other participating educational institutions are the ones doing the actual research. At the same time, the community, the church and the nation can benefit from the knowledge generated and shared by students and teachers. This endeavor also helps train future Filipino researchers while fostering collaboration among the De La Salle schools.
Promote Lasallian Education
By and large, the said initiative advocates the Lasallian brand of education specifically through the journal with three annual issues. Sinaya published nationwide will certainly be an impressive addition to the accreditation exhibits of the three schools.
The pioneer and flagship journal for the senior high school teachers and students of the country is bilingual (English and Filipino). It shall be triannual with the following themes: Category A – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics; Category B – Accountancy, Business, and Management; and Category C – Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts.
The vision is envisaged by the commitment of De La Salle University, De La Salle Santiago Zobel, and De La Salle Lipa to create an impact in society by involving senior high school mentors and researchers in knowledge creation.
Highlight Ideas, Concepts, Products
According to the UP Diksiyonaryong Filipino, “Sinaya” means “isang pagdiriwang” and “unang huli ng bagong lambat”. The journal, therefore, aims to celebrate and showcase the ideas, concepts, products, or capstone projects of young researchers, scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, and all budding scholars.
It will likewise underscore the vital role of building a culture of research in basic education and enhance cooperation between teachers and students. The journal will accept submissions all year round. Articles will be published online for free.

The Journal’s advisory board is composed of officials from the three La Salle schools. These include Dr. Feorillo A. Demeterio III, Mr. Christian P. Gopez, Dr. Henry Leen A. Magahis, Dr. Analiza D. Meanwhile, the editors are all Senior High School faculty members.
SINAYA Philippine Journal: Brainchild of Three La Salle Schools
Les Lasallian Lumieres, an organization for working scholars, recently held SIKAP: Siklab Isko: Kahusayan at Akademikong Pagkilala last April 16, 2021. It is an exclusive recognition activity for working scholars, who showed active participation as a member of the organization; balanced humanity and responsibilities as clerical or research assistants; and exemplary skills in academics. The awards were classified into three categories, mainly the Blazing Torch Awards, Communal Hand Awards, and Star Model Awards and Recognition.
The Blazing Torch Awards are given to those organization members who exemplified focus and active participation in the organization’s activities. This award is in group and individual categories. All of the working scholars who attended LLL activities are a SIKAP Individual Award contender while group awards followed the previously conducted LInggo ni IsKo 2021. Top awardees are Glennard Alcovendas, the Platinum Merit Awardee for the individual award and 4TheWin for the group award, and J.C. Raine Rosales as team leader and the recipient of Phenomenal Leadership Award.
The Communal Hand Awards are given to the working scholars who showed great passion and dedication to his/her duty and a congenial attitude towards his/her co-working scholars. The awardees were nominated and chosen by the respective scholars per grant/category (Clerical Assistants, FEBRES Scholars, and Maintenance Assistants). Awardees are Lileth Mortañez for the Clerical Assistants’ Choice Award, Janine Pasahol for the Febres’ Choice Award, and Gerard Martin Silang for the Maintenance Assistants’ Choice Award.
More so, the Star Model Awards and Recognition was also awarded to the working scholars who had excelled in their academics and qualified as Dean’s Listers. This year, 115 or nearly half of the working scholars had excelled in their academics as dean’s listers during this first semester. Furthermore, this category also recognizes the Scholastic Achiever or the scholar with the highest grade point average (GPA), which was awarded to Mr. Aldrin Cuenca this semester.
The LAMP AA (Lasallian Assistance and Management Program Advancement and Alumni) Director, Mr. Henson Ola, expresses his gratitude and salutes the organization for spearheading this kind of activity that recognizes achievements and motivates working scholars, especially in these trying times.
This event was made possible with the leadership of Janine Pasahol and Josell Espiña. Organizing committee members also included Julie Ann Ramos, Rica Fare, Cris Ann Espanola, Andrea Agbay, Jonathan Devide, and Marydel Joson.
Siklab Isko: Kahusayan at Akademikong Pagkilala is just one of the many activities Les Lasallian Lumieres prepared for all its members and the Lasallian community. On April 22, humankind celebrates Earth Day, dubbed as the “largest secular observance worldwide” Globally, people in 192 countries hold activities to mark “International Mother Earth Day”, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly through a declaration in 2009.
‘Restore Our Earth’
This year’s theme, “Restore Our Earth” converges on emerging green technologies, natural processes and innovative thinking that can bring back the world’s valuable ecosystems.
“Restore Our Earth” means that people must be part of the initiative of fixing this planet not only because of their concern but since we all live on it. In fact, the earth must be healthy at all times since our jobs, happiness, and survival all depend on a wholesome earth.
DLSL’s Commitment to Sustainability
For its part, De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) once again reaffirms its pledge in helping establish a healthy planet and humanity. In its small way, the school continues to steer and support the entire Lasallian community in this endeavor.
DLSL, through the Sustainability and Inclusive Education Directorate (SIED) conceived the so-called SAVE TODAY, SAVE TOMORROW BORDERFREE FRIENDLY REMINDER TIPS in guiding students, parents, partners, and other stakeholders on how to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. They can perform these activities while at home, working or learning, keeping in mind safety and good hygiene practices at all times.
Mental Health, Wellness & Physical Space
There’s no limitation in engaging in physical workouts. Walking is the easiest and most effective form of exercise. The truth is you can work instead of commute to the workplace which is good for the health. Or else, avail of free meditation techniques, deep breathing movements and Yoga apps online.
For those working from home, try to have a separate workspace. It will help in keeping a work-home life balance and reducing distractions. Decorate this area with homegrown plants, picture frames or other appropriate furnishings. Plants purify the air and add a pleasant feeling to the surroundings. Make sure to take short breaks in between working hours and a lunch break, of course.
Waste Reduction, Diversion & Recycling
These are the basics of environmental sustainability. Donate unused or underutilized items in your home. Other people can use and benefit from your old personal belongings.
Avoid single-use, non-recyclable and non-compostable items. Instead, utilize reusables like washable clothes with disinfectants and metal utensils. However, clean and disinfect them thoroughly after use. Learn how to properly recycle common items that could otherwise have been thrown away.
Set up a recycling station in the closet or garage to ease sorting your waste before collection. Be a conscious consumer! Find out where the items came from, how they were made, and support fair trade so that you can make the most informed purchasing decision possible.
Turn off the water faucet while lathering your hands with soap. Washing your hands for 20 seconds can waste a lot of water if the tap is left on. The same applies to brushing your teeth or washing your face.
Fix leaky sinks or faucets and install low-flow taps and toilets when possible.
Take shorter showers and limit the number of baths where possible. Every drop adds up! If you have to run the faucet for a short duration to achieve optimal water temperature, capture the wastewater and use it for watering the plants.
Utilize natural light by a window or door instead of turning lights on. Unplug any small appliances/gadgets or turn off electronics when not in use.
Avoid printing paper at home. Instead, share via email or related social media applications.
Finally, grow some herbs on your balcony or in a window box. It’s amazing how much you can grow in a little space. It will save you money, be healthier and also rewarding to see your plants grow.

De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) hosted its annual career expo themed “Preparing for the Jobs for the 21st Century” last April 14, 2021 virtually and was attended by over 500 Senior High School students, teachers, school administrators, and parents from all over the country.
The online forum aimed to provide guidance and motivation for senior high school (Grade 12) students as they embark on building a professional career amid the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
DLSL spearheaded this web-based career expo as a way of motivating 21st- century learners to prepare for the challenges ahead and learn how to formulate real-world solutions to real-world problems.
Francis Kong, a distinguished business coach, book author, and communicator served as keynote speaker while Paul Rivera, co-founder and chief executive officer of Kalibrr, a careers platform for more than 3 million young professionals in Southeast Asia, was the plenary speaker.
In his talk, Kong pointed out how the outbreak has affected peoples, nations, and the entire society. “Every person on this side of eternity is fighting a war for personal and economic survival. Businesses are closing, jobs are becoming scarce, your parents are scared,” he said.
To young jobseekers, he cited that nowadays, entry-level jobs pay lower while screening processes for potential employment have become very stringent. He suggested that young people should look for entrepreneurial opportunities such as sales provided these are legitimate and not the networking scams that have victimized many people in the past.
“Our lives are the summary of choices we make from day to day. Work on intellectual discipline. Read books that can uplift you and your minds and thinking. Let your will master your mood and emotions. Develop your fiscal discipline. Likewise, do not forget to develop your spiritual and relational discipline,” Kong told the audience.
Before he ended, Kong enumerated the essential critical skills that the younger generation must learn to develop. These are problem-solving, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, value and ethics, resourceful resilience, creative processing, leadership perspective, managing ambiguity, and effective communications.
On the other hand, Kalibrr’s Paul Rivera stressed that “hard work manufactures opportunities to become lucky. At the same time, life networks matter. So, plug into the right ones.”
He also mentioned that failure is part of our lives. “You will fail. It is part of the process, get over it, learn from it and move on,” Rivera said.
The head honcho of Kalibrr urged young people to be ready to take a calculated risk at some point in their careers. “Don’t overestimate the possibility of failure. Be patient for it will take 10 years to build relationships as well as develop grit and resilience. Be curious and never stop learning,” Rivera stated.
The talks of Kong and Rivera were followed by a Question-and-Answer portion to allow participants to ask the speakers for additional advice. Raffle draws with minor and major prizes were also held during the program.
Towards the end, there was a presentation of DLSL’s College programs.
