De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) celebrated its College Batch of 2020 through virtual commencement exercises held on July 1, 2020.
The ceremony marks DLSL’s 32nd College Graduation ceremony. Recognized were 575 graduates from the College of Law; College of Business, Economics, Accountancy and Management; College of Education, Arts and Sciences; College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management; College of Information Technology and Engineering; and College of Nursing.
In his commencement address, Creative House Inc. founder, Arun Gogna talked about three success principles: execution, environment, and envision.
“Success, my dear friend, is not based on brilliant ideas but on the ability to execute those brilliant ideas,” he said, “success my dear friend does not happen. You make it happen.”
“Check your environment. Is it a championship environment? Not to win the Olympics but to win in life…to succeed you need to surround yourself with the right people, with the people who have the prosperity mindset…if you are open, sooner or later, you will become like them.”
Mr. Gogna also stressed that “the longer-term your thinking is, the more successful you are.”
“Success is the ability to make sacrifices now for a future reality, we call this delayed gratification. If you delay gratification today, you will be successful tomorrow.”
Ten college graduates were awarded Cum Laude while the graduate program had one student awarded with a gold medal and two with a silver medal each. Meanwhile, fourteen graduates earned a degree with Academic Distinction, 35 were given a Loyalty Award, and 10 received special awards.
