

De La Salle Lipa (DLSL) Grade 10 student Anton Leo Miguel Altamirano Joson reaped major awards and topped the Philippine delegation in the Singapore Math Global Contest 2018 (Singa), November 16 to 20, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Mathletes all over the world convened in a test of wits, sharpness, and teamwork.
Joson won Gold Awards in the Expert Individual Division and Team Round as well as Division Team Runner Up in the Expert Team. He, together with the other 14 Filipino mathletes, represented the country in this unique and new Mathematics competition. Singa focuses on teamwork, high levels of collaboration, mutual support, and stamina – also highlighting on Singapore schools’ math questions centering on Higher Order Thinking Skills.
Named after Singa the lion, Singa the Math competition is envisioned to be tough, brave, and noble. It was participated in by delegates from Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Philippines, and Bulgaria.
